01 DAY

Pick Up from Kigali International Airport

Kahuzi-Beiga National Park

Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be welcomed by the experienced tour guide of RwaTrek Safaris and do the briefing about the 3 Days gorilla trekking experience in the magical Virunga Massifs of Congo.

Then later start on the four-hour journey from Kigali to Gisenyi, Rwanda, where you will cross to the democratic republic of Congo. After crossing the border, you will drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Mikeno Lodge, Bukima Tented Camp, or Kibumba Tented Camp.

Note: Virunga National Park is the only home to the mountain gorillas in Congo, and RwaTrek Safaris offer gorilla trekking from the shortest being 2 Days gorillas for clients who are already in DR congo Goma.

02 DAY

Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Virunga National Park

Virunga National Park

You will be awakened at 6:30 am for breakfast, and thereafter take a 1 Hour drive from Mikeno Lodges to the park headquarters, yet those who will have stayed at either Kibumba Tented Camp or Bukima Tented Camp don’t have to wake up early since the briefing is done near the lodges.

Mountain Gorillas in Congo are easy to trek and watch the Great Mountain Gorillas for 1 Hour, watching them feeding and breastfeeding the young ones in the Congo Jungle Forests. At times, gorilla trekking can be short, but in some cases, an hour or two of rough hiking can be opted for. The exciting scenery, extremely large biodiversity plus brilliant views add to tourists’ interests. Overnight at the above.

03 DAY

Drive Back to Kigali from Congo

Kigali, Rwanda

You will be waking up not so early in the morning and have a relaxed breakfast, later head to the border and cross over to Rwanda. Then you will drive back to Kigali airport for your flight back home.

Alternatively, one can fly out of Goma airport rather than driving back to Kigali airport.
